How long does it take to activate EMS Email Continuity?
During an outage, EMS Email Continuity will be fully up and running within 60 seconds of your activation command.
What email services will I be able to access?
You will have full access to your contacts, calendars, distribution lists, global address lists, and historical email.
What platform does EMS Email Continuity run on?
EMS Email Continuity is built on the Dell MessageOne™ Managed Services Platform™ and uses a Linux®-based architecture that offers immunity from hardware failures, infrastructure problems, network outages, power loss, database corruption, and Windows® viruses.
Does EMS Email Continuity have enterprise class security?
Yes. EMS utilizes strong-key encryption, secure transport, a customer specific key for storage, and full integrations with Windows Authentication. All data is encrypted at rest in the data centers. It is also transmitted in an encrypted fashion. No VPN or dedicated network is required to secure email.
What happens after a primary system outage?
EMS™ automatically moves all sent, received, and deleted email back to the primary system in one step. All forensic information remains intact.
Are BlackBerry® devices supported?
Yes. During exchange server outages, BlackBerry devices will continue to operate as long as your BES server is operational.
Do you provide global support for BlackBerry devices?
BlackBerry devices with BlackBerry Enterprise Server® version 4.0 or later can be globally deployed and requires no end user installation, configuration, or activation.
Do you comply with RIM security?
EMS maintains all essential RIM security functionality including 3DES encryption.
I have locations all over the world. Do I need to activate all of my users globally for every outage instance or can I just activate the users that are affected by the outage?
Microsoft® Exchange customers can partially activate EMS Email Continuity. You can activate a single user for testing purposes, a local office, a specific server or servers, or globally for your entire organization.
How long does it take to deploy EMS Email Continuity?
EMS can be fully deployed and tested in just a few hours, even for companies with 100,000 employees or more.
What is involved in the administration and maintenance of EMS Email Continuity?
Based on the Dell MessageOne Managed Services Platform™, EMS Email Continuity is able to eliminate manual administration of user lists and credentials to provide a unified administrative interface for rapid administration and customization.
